I doubt I'd be able to make the New Mexico trip. Do tell me all about it though!

As for distance for me to New Mexico... I know its a long way, but a trip I'd love to make  ;D

Well if you are willing togo to New Mexico you really should go to the Grand Canyon.
IT is an amasing sight. To be that close and have never seen it would be terrible.

Now I'm serious.
We can decide a date for the next meeting but different places (not to much) and we can connect the site by webcam for example.

lol, we need to make plots and plans
Before and after practicing Judo or engaging in a match, opponents bow to each other. Bowing is an expression of gratitude and respect. In effect, you are thanking your opponent for giving you the opportunity to improve your technique.

Mid August would be problematic for me, but its the only month I don't have re-enactment commitments

Unfortunately August is the only possible time for me to do the cottage thing - or possibly late July if I'm lucky, but no guarantees. The odd weekend I can manage most times, though . . .

Could organise two cottage events, one of which I don't go to! ;D

<<Desperately trying to catch up....>>

I'm up for this - we camp and I have telescopes and binoculars - so if I can fit it around work......

Anybody suggested Herstmonceux?? There's an annual camping thing every September though I haven't made it to one yet. I'm guessing it will be difficult for everyone to meet up at every event - so a variety of meets might be an idea.

Do you irregulars too?

Go out and point your camera up!

Can we have some tentative dates posted by people? I have a Judo course mid-August, and about 1 weekend a month I'm re-enacting.

How long could people make it to the cottage idea? I could do a week or so at most...

I assume we'll be looking at Easter Holidays for the Picnic (I know that Easter and the holidays have become separated this year)

a practical thought/question:

though I absolutly loved the boat, and it's not expensive for what you get, I'm trying to find cheaper and faster ways to come over.. I heard flying is like that, but I can't find it.. anyone?

The cheap airlines can be quicker and less expensive than the Ferry (boats tend to refer to small things ;)) You have to be careful with them, and you can't take as much.

*shifty eyes for a second* I don't know... I just build them!

Give me a sec to look, which airport would you be leaving from?

http://www.easyjet.com/de/Flugbuchung/index.asp

That leads to the easy jet dutch website (It has the German flag, so i'm not at all sure how well it'll apply to you)

edit: With a little bit of research, it looks like it'll cost about 100-125 euro's for a return ticket from Amsterdam to London Gatwick, does that help?
