AHA! Thanks, Environmental Sciences degree at UEA! (Wink to Waveney.) Now, let me go away and think of one.

My brain is blank at present. If someone else has an idea they can leap in before me.

I wonder what the purpose of all those chess-pieces-in-a-fence is . . . ?
They are bolts, covered with plastic to stop them rusting.

Oh.. er.. not sure what you mean, but it sounds so... logical.. :-\ :D

I've played this game before btw, made pics for kids to guess. We were actually on camp and they had to find the place where I took it! Great fun! ;D

Ooh congrats Alice!

The only objects I've thought of so far are a lorikeet and a slice of lemon meringe pie. Excuse me while I go and get a bowl of the latter (no, not to feed to the former).

Jules, would that be the farm at Todmorden/Rawtenstall? If so, I can see it from the end of my street, so to speak. It's interesting watching the devices gradually coming "online".

There's a wind farm being built down the road from me (much hoo-ha in the locality but the company behind it won in the end). They're quite spectacular really...though the moorland did look fine without them. :-\

I have to say, they look much better than a power station would . . . I like wind turbines . . .

Probably is the one you can see weez - though not really Todmorden. It's Scout Moor - visible from everywhere in North Manchester.  :) There's 18 up so far out of 26. It's flippin' windy up there!

Have to admit I'm growing fond of them Alice - I see them everyday.

Do you irregulars too?

Go out and point your camera up!

That's the site!  Good to watch ~ it's close enough for me to be able to regularly see it from several diverse viewpoints and get different perspectives on its progress.

If only we had the opportunity to view our galaxies in real time in the same way (as the writer of my signature poem claimed he once did in a vision!)

OK, this is really annoying since I love taking photos of interesting details, but I haven't got a picture suitable for this topic. Have to be a words clue.

If this object was alive, it would resemble half of the name of somebody on this forum - a little bit.

It's used to improve the appearance of something.

The 2nd half of someone's name, not the first.

Women are more likely to possess these objects than men, and I have several because I keep losing them.
