But why are there so many blue stars? ???
Hi Hofi - If you put the field boundaries on, you will see that it's a colour artifact.

Do you think it is only a colour-error? ???

I can't resist sharing this little mod snippet with you all . . . I saw this thread and went to the first page to make a link for it, so I could put it in the Stunning Sights Index. After fiddling around with Copy and Paste and with the tabs for a bit, I discovered it was already in there.

Shows that you made me notice this place. Keep it going! ;D

All the star clusters in the Galaxy Zoo SDSS coverage - both open clusters and globular clusters - are over in this thread.

Just thought I'd say! ;)

Do you want me to merge the two topics?

Because the thread you recommend is the Globular Clusters thread, very dense clusters, and most of these look more like open clusters to me. I have the feeling that if we try and keep everything to Globular Clusters, people will only start a lot more new "clusters of stars" threads!

Let me know what you all think.

The globular cluster thread contains all the open clusters in the GZ SDSS slice as well. I know - I've looked! See pages 5 and 6 and some other pages - it was just never renamed!

So you could just rename that thread Alice - to avoid confusion.

Good thoughts Jules, I'll wait a few days to get more opinions, and see about merging and renaming. Please everyone who has an opinion on this send me a PM or post here!

Alice,  you could rename it "Globular/Open Clusters"
