Irregular Checking Examples

Following today's Object of the Day, we now have a nice little Irregulars project by our hero Waveney. And I already have a question!

This is a spiral, clearly! Are the star forming clumps part of the spiral or not? I really wanted to answer the questions with this one, but I suppose I should dismiss it as "not irregular", shouldn't I? Or can I get away with just the star formation and mentioning that there are other galaxies nearby?

Well there might be some spiral structure - but its pretty much a mess - I would categorize it.   Maybe I should add classification about some form of spiral structure.   Watch this space...

Hmmmm - it's a CW spiral for me! I like my irregulars to be pretty darned irregular. ;)

Question for waveney please.

If I click for a second  image, and then go "back" because I think it's (similar to) the last image I just processed, it takes me back ~ okay!

However, having gone back, once I've decided that it (the second image) is not the same as the previous, which I am now looking at, how do I go "forward" again to the second image, without re-processing the first image again and/or clicking "irregular" again (for the first image?)

Answer on a postcard please, to...

At the moment you can't...  I will add it to the list of things that need tweaking (its at number 2)

The reason for "Same as Last" is that some irregulars have lots of objectIds, these tend to come up one after another.

I always refer to these as 'irregular spirals'. It is definitely a spiral but it is not well ordered.

I don't know if I'm alone in thinking this - I wanted to say it publicly so you can shout me down ;D But I wonder if we could  have the "irregular" button under all the tick-circles? I'd find it much easier - would other people?

Waveney, this is such an awesome thing to play with, though yes, I know I'm being rather slow . . . ;)

It seemed to flow well with the instructions at the top, I could duplicate the button... (Done)

Speed does not matter - this is going to take time, tweaks can be added, other questions added, it does not matter if others have already clicked.

How many irregulars we have to classify ?
I'm asking because I need to share time whit merger, overlap, forum, waiting for galaxyzoo 2, programming in perl, surfing internet, play with Command & Conquer, Flight with a Simulator .....  :D

The way the program works now it is really really trivial to change the content of the right hand of the hunt window (Between the Redshift and Zoom buttons).  In the old program the buttons were hard coded - now its just a web page proforma.   Any hunt now only needs a small data file (that includes the web page proforma) and a list of objects.  Even the first two stages in the data reduction are hunt agnostic.

Half - there are currently 2605 images in the irregular hunt (at present)
