Pea Hunt 3
« on: October 08, 2008, 11:29:57 am »
Carrie Cardamone (Who is working with Kevin) has asked if we could do a quick check on the 439 possible Peas that had been selected automatically.

For each of these images select between Pea, possibly pea and not a Pea.  This is to be a purely VISUAL check - no detailed analysis is needed, just look through these and decide which are Peas - Green and featureless.

This task will only run for a very short time.  Finished

The Hunt is over.

Oh let me just a moment stay
where time is not and angels play the paeans of the galaxies;
then speed the stardust on its flight
to change dread darkness into light, cold chaos into ecstasy!

Thanks guys.

The peas are really terribly exciting. We're learning more and more about them.

My audience last week liked them too! :D ;)

And I like classifying these this way, thanks Waveney! :)

Done. If my experience is any indication the criteria for automatic selection gives far too may false positives. Which makes one wonder how it is on false negatives?

could it be run against a set of known peas?

This is a perfect project I'm doing with my eight year old for science class today---he's over here yelling out "pea!" and "SO not a pea!"  lol   :P

It is lots of fun doing this with him---I've had him classifying with me for months and he knows almost as much as I do about what's going on here. We're just kind of integrating it into his science studies. Nice, huh!?
