Hi pluk,

You are right.  Edd did suggest that early on.  I must be getting senile.

One question:  how many posts did you make?  I goit 4 email notifications, but only see one post.

That one post does not show equations, it shows code.  I run Firefox but without Greasemonkey.  What we clearly need is something that shows up correctly independent of browser.

I still think that management should get their act together and implement LaTex capabilities using the existing software that I pointed out at the beginning.  How difficult can it be?

In the meantime, your other method does indeed work and we can use it--just cumbersome.

Best regards,
EigenState

Greetings,

Any possibility that we can now incorporate LaTex capability directly?

Seriously, how are we supposed to discuss astronomy and astrophysics without mathematics?

Best regards,
ES

*bump*

Something the forum could consider to include: MathJax

http://www.mathjax.org/

The advantage being that no client-side provisions need to be made to render math natively.

In other words, a differentiated by time ("a dot") squared over a squared = 8 pi G over 3 minus k c squared over a squared.

This is known as "the Friedmann Equation" and tells us how fast the Universe is expanding.
