Young Zoo Gallery
« on: September 16, 2009, 09:21:26 am »
The 'Little Zoo' sub board already has a gallery, but I've found some pictures which would fit in a gallery for older kids, so here goes.. ;D

The assignment was to take something ordinary and use it to create a creature from another planet. (One of the big goals here was associating). They were allowed to choose their own method (clay, papier maché, etc.).

They also made paint drawings of the natural habitats and had to give the creature a name and make up a planet it's from. All of that was presented in the hall-which-we-turned-into-a-museum and it's a shame I can't post the pictures of the younger kids who came to look!

I hope you like them. And please post your own pictures too! 8)

Here’s some lovely work by the children in foundation year. They have been working on a space project. Making rockets (photo), painting and drawing pictures (photo). Looking at ‘moon’ rocks using magnifying glasses (photo). Making space rock cakes. Writing fictional stories, role play, plus lots of research using books and computers. The space theme has really captured their imaginations!  :D ;D ;D
