Alternative Acronyms

Have you ever groaned with frustration , having been pipped at the post in the Acronyms Game? Spent half an hour or more on something like disestablishmentarianism, and all for nothing ?

Then why not share your masterpiece here? Just copy the winning post, and place your own underneath it. Of course the acronyms posted here won't form a chain, but they might help us let off steam .

Rona pipped me earlier today with her nice foody acronym, so here it is again, with my nerdier one underneath:

I'm not the starter of the acronyms game, but I certainly wouldn't object to anyone putting their pipped-at-the-post post in, say, grey or a smaller font, or headed "Darn! Too late!" or similar . . .

I'm not sure I follow you. Alice. Do you mean you'd rather late efforts went on the regular thread (suitably presented) than on this separate thread? I'm perfectly happy to wind this thread up (or for you to delete it) if you think it breaks café rules.

No, I mean, say . . .

1) Acronym such and such
2) Person A and Person B get working on it at the same time
3) Person A posts
4) In a subsequent post, Person B writes, "Darn!" then adds own acronym. It isn't part of the game, but it's there, it's a laugh, it's appreciated, and when people make effort no reason to hide it.

(Sorry if I am sounding goofy. Truth to tell, I need to get to bed )

Anyway, I'll let you folks see which approach you like and shut up and go to sleep!

Yes - I've been there - what a great idea 
We could also use it for all those acronyms you would love to do but never get the chance due to lack of appearance of the right word ...

E.G. - one of my favourites - 'because' ...

In France, by the way, it's very smart to respond to an impertinent Pourquoi? with just the English word 'Because!'.
