Question for those more experienced than I... What is the funny blue blob at the bottom? Is this a merger?



Probably an overlap.  Neither galaxy look disturbed enough. :)

This is why we need a "random" choice  for the clumps:
LSB galaxy.


:o 8) I agree we need another clumps button.

In the Hubble tutorial, this would be a spiral, NOT a mostly clumpy galaxy--I just checked again myself to make sure. :)  I had been getting confused myself, until I went back to the tutorial
