How do you post a galaxie with out the SDSS no.
« on: May 02, 2010, 10:51:54 pm »
On the Hubble site  some of the images, that I have classified, do not have a SDSS no.  So how can I post these on to the forum page?
Any Ideas?

Hi gwhw, welcome to the zoo :)

You don't need the reference number to post the galaxy. Just right-click it, and a little grey menu will drop down.

If you use Internet Explorer, go to "Properties" and copy the bit on the right of "Address (URL)". If you use a different program, select "Copy Image Address" or "Copy Image Location", or the nearest equivalent.

Either of these will give you a short link.

Now start writing a post, and click the 1st button in the 2nd row, that looks like a little picture. "img" in tags should appear, your cursor in the middle. Paste your image address, which you got above, right in there. And the galaxy will come out :)

For more help, see the very top board - the "Welcome to Galaxy Zoo" area, although I'll be needing to update that lot as it was designed for SDSS galaxies. Even so, the gist is still correct.
