I dont't think I'd ever agree
To orbit around debris
With an eight-hour day
Three-score light years away
On Beta Pictoris b!

 8) 8) ;D ;D
This rapidly moving ball
Makes a planet impossible to stall
But the rate of it's spin
Together with gin
Would give an astronaut vertigo after all

A month ago, looking around,
a recent crater & satellite were found
on the planet of Mars,
from some large shooting stars
but apparently these often abound!  :o
I like to find asteroids and galaxy mergers- but all galaxies are still fine to me.

But puzzled by the use of the word 'satellite' here. Surely we haven't found a third Martian moon – or did I miss it?

I meant a satellite crater.  ;)

I see now. Pity this usage of the word (as in 'satellite campus') has been adopted here by astronomers. The obvious word to use would have been 'minor'.

Nocturnal blue clouds do display
At night-time instead of in day.
While shining all night
Their eerie blue light
Astronomy sights do outplay.

(star might be Capella, I'm not sure, it is hard to see)

EDIT:
Star is Capella
Photo is from Aberdeen Astronomical Society Facebook page.
