Thursday 9th September 2010: Creative Zooism
« on: September 08, 2010, 11:36:18 pm »
I couldn't resist posting some bits of genius from various zooites this evening. We'll start off with a piece of Pure Art from Joinpep, dubbed "Picasso's Cat":

. . . and go on to a Zoo Limerick from djj (the whole thread is worth a read if you want a laugh! :D):

A quasar (I'm sure you'll agree)
Is rather an odd thing to see:
It's blue, green or red
(Depending on Zed)
And hazier still than a Pea!

. . . and finish off with a "Galaxy Vegetable or Mineral" from Carol Tye:

http://zoo-hst.s3.amazonaws.com/90009754.jpg - an "electric floor polisher". Quite impossible to un-see, once you've seen it!

If classifying and debating get a little too serious sometimes . . . join the fun. It keeps you going.

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Nice art very worthy of a European musuem.  Is that an acuatic dancer I see? Or a crab with some flowers for his bride?

For people, uncertain of "Zed"
Who'd like an non-Brit term instead,
We'll change "Zed" to "Zee"
And then they will see
That "Zee" will just not rhyme with red.

Almost a spoonerism, so here's a nice selection:

# Three cheers for our queer old dean!" (dear old queen, referring to Queen Victoria)
# "Is it kisstomary to cuss the bride?" (customary to kiss)
# "The Lord is a shoving leopard." (a loving shepherd)
# "A blushing crow." (crushing blow)
# "A well-boiled icicle" (well-oiled bicycle)
# "You were fighting a liar in the quadrangle." (lighting a fire)
# "Is the bean dizzy?" (dean busy)
# "Someone is occupewing my pie. Please sew me to another sheet." (occupying my pew...show me to another seat)
# "You have hissed all my mystery lectures. You have tasted a whole worm. Please leave Oxford on the next town drain." (missed...history, wasted...term, down train)[8]
