Explaining Galaxies with GZ

Hi

When I classify galaxies with my students, they ask me "so what if it's oval?" or "Wo what if it has a bar?". They want to understand the state of the galaxy we classify from its features.

Is there a short, and wholesome list one can look up a certain criteria of a galaxy and learn what it means in terms of galaxy evolution?
