What about if the 3 galaxies closest are themselves revolving around some other super massive entity, with the whole then forming a lens showing a galaxy out to the left of the image, and an arc out to the right?

I would expect a lens to be a different colour. This arc is much the same colour as the other galaxies in the group.

Still waiting for a pure "dark matter" lens.  :) It we don't keep our eyes open, we won't see it when it comes.

I will agree with Budgie, the colour of arc to too similar to the group. Also the alignment is a bit odd.

In a cluster I would expect the arc to be focused on the maxima, or the area where the combined mass is greatest.
