I think that this thread should be made into a sticky. Barred spirals are some of the coolest looking objects in the universe.

Technically, it has clockwise arms, but calling it a spiral seems somewhat simplistic. It looks like it's almost a ring. Unclear spiral is probably the best bet.

Thanks.  I can only imagine the real extent of the "gray areas"  ;)  This one, however, I'll give a firm CW barred spiral...

Lower left is Messier 96; upper left spherical is Messier 105, tan spiral is NGC 3384, and blue spiral is NGC 3389. Nice apparent cluster!
