The Audio Guide to the Galaxy Zoo - GZ Podcasts
« on: August 30, 2007, 11:44:25 am »
Click here to find the first episode of the "Audio Guide to the Galaxy Zoo", a series of short podcasts adressing issues regarding the Galaxy Zoo project and astrophysics in general. Have a listen and tell us if you'd like us to produce further episodes and what you'd like to hear more about. In the first episode, Chris talks to me about galaxy morphology.

Enjoy!

very informative, keep 'em comin... I would like to hear something on the different key measurements on the skyServer Object Explorer page. I know there are several links I can read about the z err factor etc, but there's nothing like an expert explaining it to you first hand.

thanks

Very cool, congratulations Chris and Kevin!

Although I thought it was you talking to Chris about morphology, Kevin, not the other way round . . .

How do people feel about the format? Any suggestions about what we should change?

Oh, and I think what we REALLY want to hear is the results so far . . . such as, do clockwise versus anticlockwise spirals seem to be grouped randomly then, or does the internal motion of one galaxy affect another, from what we have discovered so far?  :)

Awesome idea but it's not a podcast if I can't put it on an MP3 player. I pretty much never listen to podcasts on my computer because when I'm sitting at it I'm usually working. I do listen to a lot of podcasts on my MP3 player while I walk to work, do the dishes, etc..

I guess what I'm saying is please make it an MP3 on an RSS feed. Then it'll be a podcast.  ;Dß

The PODCAST is illuminating, comprehensible & concise. Let us have more, please.

I know it's a busy place at the Galaxy Zoo with the scientists going over things and making sure everything is working so the users can do their jobs, but I'd like a longer podcast once in a while than just 2 or 3 minutes.  I think, if you can have someone with the time to do it, I'd like a video podcast that could be sort of like a presentation at a science symposium whenever scientifically interesting results occur that you can actually show the users and explain to us what it is and why it's important.
