I would also like to say that I think we should all have respect for ALL living creatures... even if you admire one more than the other... :)

My mom works at the ambulance for animals... the things she sees... :-\

I'll weigh in.  I love them both but only have 2 cats now.  One of them is named Li'l Kitty.  He's a rap star and does this funny thing.  He won't eat directly out of the food bowl.  He reaches his paw in and picks up pieces and feeds himself.  He's not too good at it because the food ends up scattered all over the floor.

We have a cat, a calico named,  of course, Callie.  We used to have a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Molly, short for Golly, Miss Molly.  Sadly, she got killed by a car when she accidentally got loose.  That was over 2 yrs ago, and the whole family still mourns her loss.  She is remembered for playing with Callie, always willing to play tug-of-war, and jumping into your lap, a paw on each of your shoulders, and smiling at you. She was a credit to her breed; loving of children, wonderful disposition, and a bit stubborn when she wanted to be.  We hope to have another Staffie some day, but they are quite expensive here in US, and not a common breed. For example, I could buy a Black Labarador for $200, but most staffies are over $1000.  That's hard to part with, on my limited income.

I like this quote of Winston Churchill:

"I am fond of pigs. Dogs look up to us. Cats look down on us. Pigs treat us as equals"

Do you know that in China they have a pig bank, The price of pork has risen quite a bit this year, So the Chinese government went to the piggy bank and put an extra 30,000 pigs into the market. No i'm not being funny it's true.

Just so long as they bring home the bacon, rather than be ham-handed about it, make a lot of rash decisions or tell porkies.

I like pigs too, they're so intelligent and funny. A pig once ate the apple in my dad's jacket pocket - along with the pocket material! - through a fence!!!  :D I feel sorry that pork, bacon, etc is far and away my favourite meat!

I rarely eat it. And I'm extremely picky about whether it's free range etc. or not. Mind you - I expect that will prompt a thread about "So, who here's a vegetarian?" and it will get very heated and one I'd have to keep a close eye on . . .
