What should I be looking for to tell if an object is a radio source?

Cheers,

Steve

To a recent newbie like me, the only certain way is to look on the SIMBAD page where they are often kind enough to say 'radio source'.  The objects themselves often seem to have a strange sort of orange or violet luminescence, which prompts me to look at SIMBAD.  :D  Obviously there will be a much more technical answer, which I am not qualified to give.  8)

Cheers,

Joan
